Classic’s Cotswolds tour delivers a contrasting excursion programme exuding an English prettiness through rolling honeyed beauty of the Cotswolds countryside. Included is a steam train journey visiting what is regarded as the Cotswold’s most beautiful castle. A day is spent exploring Stratford upon Avon the home of William Shakespeare. Famed for its distinctive architecture the Cotswolds will transport you back in time to the Tudor revival. Featuring a new hotel for 2024 ideally located for taking in the sights.

Whilst on tour, the following program includes;

Leisurely tour of the Cotswolds - Sit back and enjoy the views - passing rolling hills and grasslands harbouring thatched medieval “honey-suckled” villages & stately homes. Free time in Moreton-in-Marsh, where on Tuesday there is a large open farmers market. Other visits are included to quaint villages such as Bourton-on-the-Water, the highest village in the Cotswolds, Stow-in-the-Wold, where the last skirmish of the English Civil War took place in 1646, Broadway & the lush meadows and orchards of Vale of Evesham.

Shakespeare Country - The morning is spent in Stratford-Upon-Avon, Shakespeare’s birthplace, with its many sights, shops, boutiques, and eateries. A leisurely river cruise has been arranged giving unparalleled views of the Theatre and Holy Trinity (Shakespeare’s resting place). Enjoy a 1940’s afternoon tea in a local quirky establishment. Pass Shakespeare’s wife Anne Hathaway’s cottage on route to the hotel.

Southern Cotswolds & Sudeley Castle & Gardens - First stop Cheltenham to Board the Glos. & Warcs. Steam Railway in for the forty minute journey through serene Cotswold countryside to Toddington. Re-join your coach to nearby Sudeley Castle & Gardens, with Royal connections stretching back over 1000 years. There are many fascinating treasures to see, including the award winning 1,200-acre estate and gardens. Sudeley is the only private castle in England to have a Queen buried within its grounds – Katherine Parr, the last of Henry VIII’s six wives lies entombed in the beautiful 15th century church. We return via the medieval river town of Tewkesbury
